Heartland Resources, Inc. steak dinner fundraiser to be held March 22 at Queen of Peace Hall in Ewing

EWING, Mo. — Heartland Resources, Inc. will be holding a steak dinner fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, in the Queen of Peace Hall. The dinner will be supplied and cooked by the Lewis and Marion Counties Cattlemen’s Association. Tickets are $50 per guest.

Heartland Resources, Inc. (HRI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been operating in Lewis County since 1974. HRI continues to serve and deliver hot, nutritious meals to people who apply and qualify for them. Each week, five meals are delivered to qualifying participants by volunteers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Meals are available for anyone to dine in or carry out from the kitchen at the Ewing Senior Center. 

HRI depends heavily on volunteer help to prepare and deliver meals each week. The staff and board of directors are always looking for volunteers willing to help.

As a non-profit organization, Heartland Resources, Inc. receives government funding. HRI is a community impact agency with the United Way of the Mark Twain Area. However, these nutrition and home health programs are not fully funded by government sources. To continue operating, HRI relies on grants and monetary donations from private individuals, as well as other organizations such as corporations, churches and businesses.
