The Lewis County Central Republican Committee will be hosting its annual Lincoln Day dinner event with special guest Kris “Tanto” Paronto, on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Caldwell Building in Canton, MO.

Kris, or “Tanto,” as he is known in security contracting circles, is a former Army Ranger from the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and private security contractor.

Paronto was part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11, 2012, helping to save over 20 lives while fighting off terrorists for over 13 hours.  Tragically losing their lives that day were J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Patrick Smith, Ty Woods, and Glen Doherty.

Kris’ story is told in the book “13 Hours,” and in the major motion picture of the same name.

Today, Paronto is a security and military consultant and founder of the 14th Hour Foundation, a nonprofit created to help military veterans, first responders, government security contractors, their families and other foundations with grants to assist in everything from mortgage payments, everyday bills and tuition.

The Lincoln Day event kicks off at 5 pm with a meal served by local favorite Platt Daddy BBQ, followed by discussions with local elected officials, some terrific silent and live auction items, a pair of GLOCK pistol raffle drawings, and comments from Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe.

Also expected to appear is Missouri Representative Mike Haffner, who was a Navy pilot assigned to fly security patrols over New York City following the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

Adult tickets to the dinner are $50, high school and college youth are $35 and can be purchased at the QR code or via  https://lewis-county-republican-committee.square.site/ .  Sponsorship options are available, please contact us for details and more info.
