Loafers Car Club’s 28th annual car show set for Saturday on Hannibal’s Main Street
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Loafers Car Club of Hannibal will be holding its 28th annual car show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, on N. Main Street from Broadway to North Street.
The charge for entering a collector vehicle is $30. Spectators are free. Space limits the number of show vehicles to 350. There are 29 classes with two trophies per class plus eight special awards. One is for a vehicle selected by Hannibal’s Tom and Becky as their favorite.
Proceeds from this yearly event are used by the club to support various community activities such the Leaps of Love organization, which supports children with a life-threatening condition, and a scholarship for a graduating senior from an area high school who will continue their education in the automotive field.
The Loafers Car Club holds a free cruise-in the first Saturday night of every month during the summer at 6 p.m. at the Save-A-Lot grocery store parking lot. Hot dogs prepared on the club’s cooking trailer and soda are free to all participants who bring a special-interest vehicle.
