Ethan’s Rodeo set for Aug. 20-21 at Marion County Fairgrounds

Ethan's Rodeo

PALMYRA, Mo. — Ethan’s Rodeo will return on Aug. 20-21 at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Palmyra.

Ethan’s Rodeo is named in memory of Ethan Weiman, a young cowboy who fought neuroblastoma — a childhood cancer responsible for 15 percent of all childhood cancer deaths — from 2007-09. His family and friends continue the fight by presenting this event to fund ongoing research of the disease.

Ethan’s Rodeo features award winning contestants and livestock, rodeo clown acts and pyrotechnics shows with each performance. The event is part of the Outlaw Rodeo 2021 tour, so fans will enjoy bull riding, barrel racing, bucking horses, steer wrestling and roping events. Ethan’s Rodeo is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association and the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association.

Ethan’s Rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. Gates and concessions open at 5:30 p.m. Friday and at 5 p.m. Saturday. A petting zoo, pony rides, bounce house and more is available. The musical lineup on the Refreshment Services Pepsi Music Stage has Liz Bentley on Friday night, Tim Smith on Saturday from 5-7 p.m., and Blacktop South on Saturday night. A stick horse parade for kids 10 and under will be held at 7 p.m. each night, and a sheep chase will be held during the rodeo.

General admission tickets are $15.

Concession vendors will be The Butcher Block, Pepsi, Bud Light, Gengenbacher’s Shaved Ice and Popp’n on Maine.
