All skill levels welcome at chess tournament on Saturday at Hannibal library

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Free Public Library is sponsoring a free chess tournament on Saturday, May 13.

The three round tournament will start between 10:30 and 11 a.m. and will end by 4 p.m. or when all games are complete. The tournament will be held on the third floor of the library, 200 S. Fifth. A break for lunch after the first round is planned. 

Chess players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in both adult and junior divisions, with trophies awarded to the winner in each division.  Gary Blickhan of Quincy will be the tournament director. Spectators are welcome. 

To  register for the tournament, call the library at 573-221-0222 or register at the library on the day of the tournament at 10 a.m.
