Benson Financial Group in Hannibal adds five employees to staff

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Benson Financial Group, a financial planning company, recently added five people to its staff.

Jason Nichols of Hannibal serves as director of operations. He previously served as athletic director and head women’s soccer coach at Hannibal-LaGrange University for 24 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in human services from Westmar University and his master’s degree in education from William Woods University.

Nichols, his wife Chrystal and their five children have lived in the Hannibal area for 25 years.

Benjamin Strother will become the sixth financial advisor at the Hannibal firm upon the completion of his licensing requirements. Strother comes to Benson Financial Group after a 13-year career in education, serving most recently as assistant professor of finance and head baseball coach at Hannibal-LaGrange University.

Strother holds a bachelor’s degree from Hannibal-LaGrange, a master’s degree from William Woods University and a doctorate in personal financial planning from Kansas State University. Strother, his wife Janelle and their children have lived in the Hannibal area since 2005.

Jenny Johnson will serve as an administrative assistant/receptionist at the Hannibal firm. She spent the last 39 years at Hannibal-LaGrange University. She received her bachelor’s degree in organizational management from HLGU. She is a life-long resident of the area.

Tim Miller of Quincy, Ill., will become the firm’s fifth financial advisor once fully licensed. He comes to the firm after working as fleet production manager at the Knapheide Manufacturing Company in Quincy. Miller received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Quincy University. Miller, his wife Emily and their three children are life-long Quincy residents.

Debbie Burroughs of Hannibal has joined the firm as a client services assistant after spending the last 21 years at Hannibal National Bank, where she was a vice-president and loan officer. Burroughs and her husband Don have lived in the Hannibal area for 33 years.
