HANNIBAL, Mo. — Member of the Hannibal High School FFA Club have been raising funds to help support 12 students to attend the FFA convention in Washington, D.C., this summer. The cost of the trip is approximately $1,800 per student.  The Hannibal Early Birds Kiwanis Club recently announced it is donating $500 toward the cost of this trip and challenges other service clubs and organizations in the Hannibal area to do the same.

The FFA students were guests recently at a Hannibal Early Birds Kiwanis Club meeting. Derek Greening is the faculty advisor to the group, which is made up of over 200 students. He talked about the various classes that the students participate in and some of the various fundraisers that they have had, such as selling flowers and plants from the school’s greenhouse, selling meat products that have been donated and processed by the students and other projects that are of an agricultural nature.
