HANNIBAL, Mo. — The 2021 Wild & Wacky Art Adventure, a free art festival for kids ages 3 to 12 and their families, will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday in Central Park.

This year’s theme is “Ubiquitous Art – Art is Everywhere.” The Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, is partnering with many organizations, businesses and individuals to present a morning-long community event.

Projects with the “ubiquitous” theme in mind (and the concept that art connects with many aspects of our daily lives) are:

• Art Meets Aerodynamics — Hoop glider;
• Art Meets Fashion — Masterpiece T-shirts;
• Art Meets Math — Fibonacci circles;
• Art Meets Motion — Flip book;
• Art Meets Nature — Veggie print making;
• Art Meets Recycling — Coffee filter flowers;
• Art Meets Reflection — Kaleidoscope.

The Wild & Wacky Art Adventure provides a positive activity in which parents and children can interact, work side by side, explore creativity and strengthen the sense of family. More than 200 people typically participate.

Local businesses and organizations are sponsoring the event. Major sponsors are General Mills Hometown Grantmaking Program, George H. Riedel Private Foundation, HAC Program Scholarship Donors and the Missouri Arts Council.
