Hannibal-LaGrange computer science department to be host of LEGO events in July, August

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal-LaGrange University computer science department will be the host of a series of upcoming events for students using the popular LEGO building blocks.

The LEGO Learning Play Date titled “LEGO Nation” will give students the opportunity to learn about and build famous places from across the United States. There will be three dates to choose from:

  • July 5 from 10 a.m. to noon
  • July 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • August 2 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Cost is $30. It will be a fundraiser for the computer services department for computer science events. It is open to kids who have completed kindergarten and above. The event will be at the HLGU Partee Center in the computer services wing. It is limited to 15 participants.

Students will build and program an EV3 LEGO robot during the LEGO Robotics Camp on Aug. 7-11 from 9-11 a.m. each day. Cost for the camp is $100 and is open to students going into fourth grade or older. The event will be held at the HLGU Partee Center in the computer services wing. It is limited to 15 participants.
