Heartland Towing and Recovery in Hannibal celebrates 25 years Saturday with free lunch, prizes

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Heartland Towing and Recovery is celebrating 25 years in Hannibal with a birthday party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 4015 Market.

A bounce house and a rotator swing from the back of a tow truck will be available. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served for lunch. A big screen TV, a kids Chevy Silverado battery operated truck, gas cards and more will be given away in a drawing.

Jason Krigbaum, owner of Heartland Towing and Recovery, started the company in 1998 in a building with one stall for auto body repair. The main building in Hannibal since has expanded to an 8,000 square-foot shop with a fleet of towing and recovery equipment. Heartland has a second location in Bowling Green, Mo.

Krigbaum said an important part of his business is giving back to the community. He said his favorite part of the job is getting his truck into the community to help during times of need.
