‘Kickin’ Cancer’ game raises $1,000 for cancer patient assistance fund at Hannibal Regional

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal High School girls soccer team recently held its eighth annual “Kickin’ Cancer” game on April 25 at Veterans Field. As the starting lineup was introduced, players were escorted onto the field by local cancer survivors. 

The players sold shirts, sweatshirts and drawing tickets to raise money for the Life.Light.Hope. cancer patient assistance fund at Hannibal Regional. The team presented Hannibal Regional Foundation with a check for $1,000 to benefit this fund. 

Accepting the check on behalf of Hannibal Regional were Todd Ahrens, president and CEO of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System; Bob Hess, director of the James E. Cary Cancer Center; Wendy Harrington, president and CEO of Hannibal Regional Foundation and Angie Wilcoxson, director of finance at Hannibal Regional Foundation.
