Northeast Missouri Humane Society participating in ‘Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope’ event
HANNIBAL, Mo. — BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is bringing hope to the nation’s shelter pets this holiday season with its “Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope” adoption event Dec. 1–11.
BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees of $50 or less per cat or dog during each nationwide event. More than 275 shelters in 43 states are participating in the event, including the Northeast Missouri Humane Society, 7135 Veterans Road.
NMHS will offer $10 cat adoption fees and $30 dog adoption fees Dec. 1-11 on all eligible animals. All potential adopters will need an approved application. Applications are being accepted for this event. Getting an application in now gives the shelter time to do background checks which will make the adoption process much quicker with an approved application on file.
There are no holds for this event.
Pet adoption is a lifetime commitment, not just for the holidays. BISSELL Pet Foundation and The Northeast Missouri Humane Society urge families to do their research about the pet they are interested in adopting.
