Older adults are at serious risk of injury or death from falls. One out of three adults age 65 and older experiences a fall each year. These kinds of falls can lead to head trauma, lacerations and fractures. Non-fatal falls often result in hospitalization and recuperation. Even if falls don’t result in injury, adults often develop a fear of falling and limit their activities, which can decrease both mobility and physical fitness. Actions can be taken to prevent falls. Taking these actions in preventing falls and maintaining older adults’ independence is critical.

The class is limited to 14 people.
