Ticket price to increase Nov. 1 for Hannibal-LaGrange University booster gala

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Tickets are on sale for Hannibal-LaGrange University’s first booster gala, formerly known as the booster banquet, on Saturday, Nov. 12. This year’s event will feature HLGU president Robert Matz as the keynote speaker. It is sponsored by HNB Bank.

Attendees will enjoy fellowship, heavy appetizers and a meet and greet with Matz in the Roland Fine Arts Center lobby, starting at 5:30 p.m. The group will move into the Parker Theatre at 7 p.m. for the alumni award winner’s announcement, hear a campus update from Hannibal-LaGrange University administration and enjoy a keynote speech from the new president.

The Hannibal-LaGrange University Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Matz as the school’s 18th president at the fall meeting on Oct. 14. Matz had previously been serving as HLGU vice president of academic administration, dean of the faculty and professor of theology and preaching since July 2021. Matz was named the acting executive vice president in March 2022 as Rodney Harrison was named transitional president.
