Marion County Walk for Life breakfast April 26 to benefit Options for Women

PALMYRA, Mo. — Options for Women will hold its third annual Marion County Walk for Life and pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday, April 26, at the Flower City Park.
Registration for the walk and a special warm up session will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. Breakfast will be provided by the Hannibal Knights of Columbus and be served in the Sesqui Building from 8 to 11 a.m. Free-will donations will be accepted for the breakfast. It is open to anyone, whether they plan to take part in the walk.
This year’s Walk for Life is dedicated to the memory of Mary Oberman, who passed away in October 2024. She was an Options for Women founder, former board of directors member, secretary, nurse and coach. Additionally, she organized and planned the Walk for Life and Banquet for Life events. She went even a step further by helping prepare the meals for those events.

Proceeds from the event (both breakfast and walk) will go to support the Options for Women Pregnancy Resource Center, 7A Northport Plaza, Hannibal.

Options for Women opened in Bowling Green in 2016, and the Hannibal office opened in the fall of 2022. The organization serves pregnant women and young mothers and fathers across northeast Missouri. Services provided are medical grade pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and life coaching, all confidential and at no cost to the individual. Pregnancy, parenting and life skills classes are offered free at the center and online with incentives for participation.
Options for Women also offers referrals for medical help and temporary housing for expectant mothers in need, prenatal vitamins, coaching and support for those grieving a pregnancy loss of any type, adoption referrals, information on abortion and abortion pill reversal, a mentoring program for young men and ongoing support and encouragement to young parents.
The center is maintained by donors and community volunteers, Donations will be accepted on site the day of the walk, or they may be made online through the registration link.
