Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum names Mueller as Tom and Becky program coordinator

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum recently announced the appointment of Stacey Mueller as the new Tom and Becky program coordinator.
Mueller, who has lived in Hannibal since 2008, will take on the role following the departure of the current coordinator, Melissa Cummins, who will step down July 4.
After relocating to the area with her husband, Mark, Mueller quickly immersed herself in local activities, including her involvement in the Tom and Becky program as a judge. She has deepened her understanding of Hannibal’s rich history and culture, particularly through classes offered by the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum, led by Henry Sweets and Cindy Lovell.
Mueller’s commitment to the community grew further with her teaching career at Hannibal Middle School. In 2013, she began as a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher. She also participates in the Hannibal Middle School theater club, starting as the assistant director. Mueller became the club’s director in 2016, leading the club to numerous successful productions.
Mueller has contributed to local productions at Hannibal-LaGrange University and has been involved with the Mark Twain Chorale.
In a press release, Mueller said, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be selected as the next coordinator of the Tom and Becky program. I have seen the way this program shapes and molds the young people of Hannibal, and being allowed to help them shine a light on America’s Hometown is a huge honor. I hope I can help future Toms and Beckys become not just ambassadors of Hannibal to the world but to become servant leaders in our hometown.”
The Tom and Becky program offers youths an opportunity to become ambassadors of the city while highlighting Hannibal’s heritage and the legacy of Mark Twain.
