HANNIBAL, Mo. — The boat ramp and marina at the Nipper Park marina will be closed during daytime hours the week of Oct. 9-13 so Hannibal Parks and Recreation personnel can dredge without interruption.

Boaters can use the marina each evening once dredging is completed for the day. The length of closure will depend on weather and complications.

A Mud Cat MC 115D Dredge bought last year from Ellicott Dredge Technologies will be used for dredging the marina. The dredge vacuums up the unwanted sediment and debris and pumps it to a dredge pit south of the marina. The sediment becomes fill soil that can be recycled throughout the park system.
