HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Regional Foundation will host its annual walk celebrating four-legged friends and helping local cancer survivors and families beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.

The Paws For a Cause walk, which highlights the important role that pets play in the healing and coping process for many patients, will be held at the Hannibal Regional Healthy Way Fitness Trail. Grand marshals for the event will be Mary Dunaway, a cancer survivor, along with her golden retriever, Buddy.

Registration can be completed prior to the walk by calling the Foundation at 573-629-3577 or visiting hrhf.org. Walkers can sign up the morning of the event at the Fitness Trail. With a paid registration, each participant will receive a Paws For a Cause T-shirt, a special gift for their buddy as well as a professional photograph with their furry friend. Cost is $20 per person and $10 per pet.

Funds raised from the walk will support local cancer patients at the Hannibal Regional Cancer Institute.
