Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B announces promotion of Quincy native to lieutenant

MACON, Mo. — Capt. Erik A. Gottman, commanding officer of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B, Macon, has announced the promotion of Sgt. Paul M. Behrens to lieutenant and designated a member of the Troop B command staff, effective Dec. 1.

Behrens was appointed to the patrol on Jan. 1, 1997. After graduating from the patrol’s law enforcement academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 11, Monroe and Randolph counties. He transferred to Zone 7, Knox and Lewis counties, on June 1, 1999. He transferred into the patrol’s gaming division and was assigned to the Mark Twain Casino in LaGrange on Aug. 1, 2001.

He transferred to Troop B, Zone 9, Marion and Ralls counties, on Aug. 22, 2004. He was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 11 on April 1, 2014, and on Feb. 1, 2015, he transferred to Zone 9. Behrens was promoted to sergeant and designated the zone commander of Zone 9 on Nov. 1, 2016.

Behrens is a native of Quincy, Ill., and graduated from Quincy High School. He holds a bachelor of science in law enforcement administration from Western Illinois University in Macomb.
