Oldest pharmacy in Hannibal opens new location in Center
Grand Pharmacy recently opened a new location inside the building that also houses Hannibal Clinic’s office in Center, Mo.
The new pharmacy, Grand Pharmacy Ralls County, opened July 19. Grand Pharmacy also operates the oldest pharmacy in Hannibal.
“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 20 to 30 percent of new prescriptions are never filled by the patient,” said owner Greg Gilmore. “There can be a number of reasons for that, but in our region, distance between the patient and the nearest pharmacy can be a major challenge.
“We hope to remove that obstacle for people who live in and around Center with Grand Pharmacy Ralls County. Locating our pharmacy in the same building as Hannibal Clinic in Center is an added convenience for patients who leave after an office visit with a prescription for their condition.”
Grand Pharmacy Ralls County will have a pharmacy technician on duty. Customers who need to speak with a pharmacist can do that immediately by teleconference with a pharmacist at Grand Pharmacy’s Hannibal location.
“Patients experience optimal outcomes and receive the greatest value for their healthcare dollar when they are able to comply with the entire plan of care, developed in cooperation with their provider,” said Randy Jobe, practice administrator, Hannibal Clinic. “Having convenient access to prescription medications through Grand Pharmacy Ralls County will help patients do that.”
Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number is 573-267-8002.
