Resurfacing work scheduled to begin Monday in Marion, Shelby and Macon counties

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Concrete repairs and resurfacing are scheduled to begin Monday, May 5, on 32 miles of westbound U.S. Route 36 in Marion, Shelby and Macon counties, from 0.5 miles west of Route Z near Monroe City in Marion County to 0.3 miles west of the Macon County line near Clarence.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction in place at the location where crews are actively working. Signs, including message boards, will be utilized for traffic control and alerts such as schedule changes. Workers will be present during daylight hours. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
The $11.2 million contract, awarded this year to Magruder Paving, LLC of Troy, Mo. All work is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 1.
