Resurfacing work scheduled to start this week on Route N in Lewis County

Missouri-Department-of-Transportation

LEWIS COUNTY, Mo. — A resurfacing project on Route N in Lewis County, from Missouri Route 6 to end-of-state maintenance is scheduled to begin as early as the week of May 13.

The $7 million contract was awarded last year to W.L. Miller Company of Hamilton, Ill., and includes several additional resurfacing projects scheduled to be completed by Nov. 1:

  • Lewis County, Route P — From U.S. Route 61 in Canton to Route C (in progress)
  • Lewis County, U.S. Route 61 Outer Road — From Business Route 61 to end of state maintenance in Canton (tentatively scheduled to start immediately following completion of Route P)
  • Knox/Lewis County, Route K — From Missouri Route 15 in Baring in Knox County to Route 6 in La Belle in Lewis County

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working. Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

These resurfacing projects are included as part of Gov. Mike Parson’s Rural Road program. With the governor’s signing of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, an additional $100 million in general revenue was made available for Missouri’s low-volume rural roads.
