Ronny Ferrel Hannibal Aquatic Center open for season with Hultgren serving as aquatics director

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Ronny Ferrel Hannibal Aquatic Center, 1700 Pleasant, opened for the season Saturday, June 1. It is open from 1 to 6 p.m. every day.

Emily Hultgren is serving her first year as aquatics director, with Garrett Heaton and Madison Musgrove serving as pool managers. Head lifeguards are Emilia Bates and Nevaeh Boling.

Admission prices are as follows:

  • Children 2 and under — Free
  • Youth Ages 3-17 — $5
  • Adults Ages 18-54 — $6
  • Seniors Ages 55+ — $4
  • 10-visit punch pass for all ages — $35

Children must be least 12 years old to enter alone. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an individual 16 years or older.

Eight lifeguards and two slide attendants will be on duty when the pool is open.

Memorials from the death of longtime Aquatic Center employee Ronny Ferrel are funding swim lessons for 72 children this summer. Ferrel, who worked at the pool for more than 55 years, died June 3, 2023. His family requested that memorials be made to fund swim lessons, the favorite part of Ferrel’s job. The center was renamed for Ferrel in May.
