Run, Run Rudolph 5k race Saturday to benefit Adopt-A-Family
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The third annual Run, Run Rudolph, a 5-kilometer run/walk, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Sodalis Nature Preserve. The race will start at S. Main and continue through Sodalis Nature Preserve.
Alexia Gonzalez and her mother, Marty Gonzalez, started the Run, Run Rudolph race in 2022. The race welcomed 50 runners and volunteers in 2023 and raised $1,500. The goal for 2024 is $2,000.
To register for the race, email Alexia at alexiaagonzalez03@gmail.com. Registration will be available at the pavilion the day of the race along with payment of the entry fee of $30. The entry fee will be donated to the Adopt-A-Family program.
Gold level sponsors for the event are MECO Engineering Co., Inc., Jim and Claire Bensman and Brewer Industrial and Machine LLC.
The Gonzalez family has been doing fundraisers for several years in the form of bake sales, gift wrapping and cookie decorating to help raise funds to take away some of the financial stress that comes with the season so each family can focus on the true meaning of Christmas and spend time together. The funds raised are used to buy gifts and other essentials for families in the Hannibal area as apart of Adopt-A-Family.
