PALMYRA, Mo. — Tek Forward, a local non-profit focused on accessible technical education, recently selected Jessica Manthei, a partner in The Write Place and a Quincy, Ill., resident, to join its board of directors. The term of the seat is for two years. This brings the total number of board members to five.

Manthei, a native of Colorado, has a bachelor of arts in English. She has been a technical writer for more than a decade and a business consultant for the last seven years. Manthei has done grant writing for nonprofits, and she has been a business owner in three states. Her specialties include digital marketing, social media strategies and thinking outside the box.

“I am so excited to be involved in a group that helps build the community,“ Manthei said in a press release.

“We are excited to bring Jessie Manthei on board. Her years of experience in social media and grant writing bring much-needed help to our endeavors,” said Luis Barnes, executive director and founder of Tek Forward. “We continue to search for people that bring a different take on how to accomplish our goals and Jessie fits right in.”

Tek Forward’s main purpose is to teach free entry-level software development courses, work with small-town businesses to help understand how technology could benefit them and build community connections by introducing technical skills to technical needs.
