Volunteer spring cleanup day set for Saturday in Hannibal
HANNIBAL, Mo. — US Cellular, Hannibal Board of Public Works, Hannibal Parks and Recreation and Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a spring cleanup day Saturday, April 20, in preparation for Earth Day on April 22.
Volunteers should meet anytime from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Y Men’s Pavilion, 105 Hill. US Cellular will provide water bottles, sunglasses and selfie lights to participants.
The cleanup will cover areas throughout Hannibal, according to Mary Lynne Richards, recreation supervisor with Hannibal Parks and Recreation. In a press release, Richards said, “Get a group together to clean up a section of Hannibal. We provide the trash bags and will pick up the trash after it’s been collected.”
Volunteers can pick up gloves and trash bags and choose wherever in Hannibal they want to pick up trash. After the trash is picked up and bagged, representatives from Hannibal Board of Public Works and Hannibal Parks and Recreation will pick up the bags. A dumpster will be at the Y Men’s Pavilion.
