Volunteers needed for Hannibal spring cleanup day on Saturday

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The annual Hannibal spring clean-up day will be held Saturday, April 26. Volunteers should meet anytime from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Y Men’s Pavilion, 105 Hill.
Volunteers can pick up gloves and trash bags at the Y Men’s Pavilion. After the trash is picked up and bagged, representatives from Hannibal Board of Public Works and Hannibal Parks and Recreation will pick up the bags to be taken to a dumpster.
In a press release, Mary Lynne Richards, recreation supervisor with Hannibal Parks and Recreation, said, “We will have suggestions of places people can go or they can choose to go wherever they’ve seen trash, as long as it’s not on private property.”
The cleanup is sponsored by Hannibal Board of Public Works, Hannibal Parks and Recreation and Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce. US Cellular will provide goody bags with prizes to participants.
