Winning Powerball prize worth $200,000 bought at FastLane in Palmyra
PALMYRA, Mo. — A set of special numbers led a Missouri Lottery player to a $200,000 Powerball prize in the Nov. 11 drawing on a ticket bought at FastLane, 100 N. Main, in Palmyra.
“I’ve been playing those numbers for years, and they all have to do with birthdays in the family,” the player said.
His ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, as well as the Powerball number, resulting in a $50,000 base prize. Since he added the $1 Power Play feature to his ticket, his prize was instantly quadrupled when the Power Play number drawn was 4.
The winner explained his wife was the one who bought the ticket.
“She was the one who bought it, and I think she was more excited than I was,” he said. “It still hasn’t really sunk in for me yet.”
He added that even after his win, he’ll still use his favorite birthday combinations whenever he plays Powerball.
“I’m still playing those same numbers,” he said.
The winning numbers that night were 1, 12, 14, 24 and 57 with a Powerball number of 7.
Powerball is a multi-state draw game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
Players in Marion County won more than $6.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes in fiscal year 2023. retailers Preceived more than $735,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $677,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
