QMG Bridge the Gap hits the $1 million mark

BTG 1 Mil - 1

Quincy Medical Group’s Bridge the Gap to Health Race has achieved major milestone, surpassing the $1 million mark in fundraising.

This achievement is the result of 23 years that has brought walkers and runners together to fulfill needs
in our community.

The most recent race, held on May 13, had a turnout of more than 900 participants in support of the YWCA Quincy’s Supportive Housing Program.

The Bridge to Gap Race Health Race began over two decades ago by QMG Physician Dr. John
Scott who sought to further support the health and wellbeing of patients. Since 2001, the race has
brought people together for the greater good of the community.

“We are thrilled to announce that the Bridge the Gap to Health Race has surpassed the $1 million mark,” said QMG Director of Community Relations Morgan Parker. “This achievement is a testament to the incredible dedication and generosity of our participants, sponsors, and our community.”

This was the second year that the race benefitted the YWCA Quincy Supportive Housing Program, which aids a vulnerable population in need of shelter. The program meets people where they are in life, and challenges individuals to make proactive changes. Case managers provide the guidance and support necessary to help those in need meet goals, such as gaining financial independence and stability, strengthening family bonds, and making better decisions for their future.

“The Bridge the Gap to Health Race embodies the true spirit of community,” Parker said. “With the support of so many, this event serves as a powerful catalyst for change. Not only does it raise vital funds, but it also raises awareness about the importance of addressing challenges faced by our fellow community members.”
