Quincy DeMolay to celebrate 100th anniversary of first chapter Saturday at Masonic Temple
QUINCY — The Quincy Chapter Order of DeMolay, a masonic youth organization for boys,
will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the organization of the first Quincy chapter, at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple, 428 Jersey.
Named for WWI veteran Henry Root Hill, the current Quincy chapter was organized in 1941. Saturday’s event will be a reunion of current and past DeMolay members, including presentations and displays by current members, lunch and time to reminisce about experiences.
All former DeMolay members, their families and guests are invited to attend.
DeMolay strives to shape young men into leaders of character by epitomizing timeless values and accepting the challenge of leadership, both of character and of action. Each young man takes ownership of his DeMolay experience. From generating ideas, planning events, coordinating logistics and executing their plans, each DeMolay Chapter defines its own success. All of this is accomplished under the mentorship of trained advisors selected from the local community.
