Quincy Service League accepting 2022 appropriations

The Quincy Service League Appropriations Committee now is accepting applications for grants that are funded with proceeds from the annual Holiday Gift Show. Applications are accepted from not-for-profit organizations located in Adams County to help fund organization projects or specific items.

The Quincy Service League awarded grant money to nine area not-for-profit organizations. The maximum grant request for 2022 is $1,000, and all applications must be completed by Feb. 15. The requirements and guidelines for requesting funds are located on the second page of this release and are also available on the Quincy Service League website.

Founded in 1938, Quincy Service League strives to foster interest among its members in the social, economic, educational, cultural and civic conditions of the community; to encourage women to actively participate in raising the standards and promoting human welfare; to emphasize their place is one of actual partnership and cooperation with their community instead of one of arbitrary giving.

Requirements for organizations:

• Must be a registered non-profit.
• Those benefiting must reside in Adams County.
• Must spend grant money between April 15 and December 31 of grant year.
• General operating expenses will not be considered.
• Annual fundraising drives will not be considered.
• Organizations are discouraged from applying annually for recurring projects.

Guidelines:

• Applications must either be postmarked or completed online (preferred) by February 15th.
• Funding limit is $1000 per organization per year.
• Organizations may only submit one application per year.
• Organizations that receive the Foundation Grant may not be awarded an Appropriations Grant that year.
