MU Extension to offer webinar series on fruit production from Jan. 30 to March 5
BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — University of Missouri Extension will offer a six-part webinar series on the production of blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, elderberries and specialty berries. The classes will stream 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays from Jan. 30 to March 5.
Attendees also will receive access to previously recorded classes on fruit production. Topics are site selection and planting, fertility management, weed management, insect and disease management, marketing and economics of fruit production.
MU Extension horticulturist Justin Keay suggests attendees participate in the live crop-specific classes and view the previously recorded topics on their own time.
Registrants will receive a Zoom link and access to view previously recorded classes on the morning of the first class.

Scholarships are available to beginning farmers in the counties of St. Charles, Jefferson, Lincoln, Franklin, Warren, Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois and Washington, as well as the city and county of St. Louis. Farmers are notified of scholarship upon completing registration. The scholarships are possible through grants from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s Beginning Farmer and Rancher and Veteran Farmer and Rancher programs.
