46th annual Early Tin Dusters Color Run comes to downtown Quincy Oct. 14-16

QUINCY — The Early Tin Dusters Color Run, featuring pre-1949 street rods, will take over the streets of Quincy Oct. 14-16.

Registration for participants will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Atrium on Third, 201 S. Third. Registration will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Moorman Park, 160 Moorman Park Road.

Friday events are:

  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m. — Color Run participants can participate in Dash for Cash sponsored by The District. Take a walking tour of unique shops and downtown businesses. Collect tickets from each of the participating establishments to be eligible to win a cash prize from The District. Information will be available at the registration table regarding participating retail stores in the downtown area.
  • 5:30-9 p.m. — Beer sampling and tour by Quincy Brewing Company, 110 S. Sixth. Sample some of Quincy’s finest brews and enjoy a tour with the Quincy Brewing Co. brewmaster demonstrating his special techniques and brewing process. Cost for the tour plus tasting is $15; tour only is $5. Tickets are available online at info@quincybrewingcompany.com and also will be available Friday in the registration area. Local food trucks also will be on-site. Bring your lawn chairs.

Saturday

  • 8 a.m.-4 p.m. — Show and Shine. Cars will be parked in downtown Quincy. Visit businesses, specialty stores and restaurants. Auto parts vendors, crafts booths and food and drink stands will be located around Washington Park.
  • 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Dash for the Cash continues.
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m. — Quincy Preserves Home Tour.

Sunday

  • 8-10 a.m. — Poker run. Starts at the Atrium on Third.
  • 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. — Vendors in Moorman Park
  • 10:30 a.m. — Church service at Moorman Park
  • 2 p.m. — Awards presentation. Top 10 and class awards, along with major prizes giveaway and 50/50 drawing

Cash giveaways will be held Saturday and Sunday for registered Color Run participants along with silent auctions, door prizes and raffles.
