Afriky Lolo drum and dance troupe to return to Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex on July 16
QUINCY — The Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex will be the site for “Summer of Rhythm Night” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.
The evening will see the return of the West African drum and dance troupe Afriky Lolo, a performance by the Quincy Concert Band’s low brass ensemble and the Beat Arts Academy.
Afriky Lolo is a group of accomplished and versatile professional dancers, musicians and artist-educators of African descent. They use movement, rhythm, sound and storytelling to honor and celebrate traditions from all over the world.
A free meal sponsored by Blessing Health System will be available along with treats and snacks by Kohl’s Wholesale and Dot Foods. Activities will be offered by Quincy Children’s Museum, Quincy Art Center, Quincy Public Library and the Quincy Fire Department truck sprinkler.
