CARTHAGE, Ill. — Award-winning country music singer Pam Tillis will be at The Legacy Theater in Carthage on Friday, Feb. 28.

Daughter of renowned country music star Mel Tillis, Pam Tillis has made a name for herself as a singer-songwriter, with a gold album, three platinum albums and many songs topping the charts.

Her 1990 hit, “Don’t Tell Me What To Do,” pushed her momentum forward as a country star. Her 1991 album, “Put Yourself In My Place,” added two No. 1 hits, two top-five singles and one top-20 hit. The album was certified gold in its first year. Tillis followed with three platinum albums: “Homeward Looking Angel” in 1992; “Sweethearts Dance” in 1994; and an Arista “Greatest Hits” in 1997.

Tillis will perform hits like “Shake the Sugar Tree,” “Mi Vida Loca” and “Maybe It Was Memphis” with her backup trio.

After recording on several different labels, Tillis started Stellar Cat Records in 2007 and has since taken her career at her own pace with recording and touring.

Tickets are available at www.thelegacytheater.com, by calling 217-357-9479 or by visiting the box office at 1160 Buchanan from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The box office is open two hours before performances.
