Battle of the Bulge to be topic of presentation Sunday at Quincy Senior Center

QUINCY — Local author and historian Cleve Barkley will present a program titled Battle of the Bulge at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center, 639 York. The program is free and open to the public.

Barkley will speak about his book, “In Death’s Dark Shadow: A Soldier’s Story,” which is about his father, Harold Barkley, and his experience in the Battle of the Bulge in the European Theater during World War II.

Barkley also has written for WWII History, a nationally distributed magazine touted as “the foremost authority on the greatest war in history.” He has assisted in creating a World War II study guide and has also aided noted author Charles Glass with “The Deserters: A Hidden History of World War II.”
