Brown County Comedy Night on Oct. 19 to feature Simpson, Reynolds
MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — The Tracy Family Foundation and Mount Sterling Community Center YMCA are the hosts of the fourth annual Brown County Comedy Night on Saturday, Oct. 19. This year’s event, featuring performances by Marty Simpson and Sean Reynolds, will be held in the Brown County High School auditorium.
The event is appropriate for ages 12 and older. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Seating is first come, first served. Tickets are now available at the Mount Sterling Community Center YMCA Welcome Desk. YMCA financial assistance scholarships apply toward ticket purchases.
Simpson’s comedy has been featured on ESPN, BET and Nickelodeon. His award-winning special “Clean If It Kills Me” is available to stream on multiple platforms, and his DryBar comedy special can be seen at DryBarComedy.com/Coach.
Simpson has performed on three continents. He was a finalist in the 2017 Trial By Laughter and was named a festival favorite at Big Pine Comedy Festival. He won the 2012 Clean Comedy Challenge.
His comedy is shaped by his 25-plus years of marriage and two teenage kids, as well as his 10 years as a head high school football coach and drama teacher.
Reynolds is an internationally touring comedian and funny dad of six who has appeared on tour with Tim Hawkins, Michael Jr. and Anita Renfroe. He has headlined multiple tours including the MidWest Clean Comedy All-Stars Tour and UpStanding Comedy Tour in Canada.
He has appeared on ABC and NBC. Reynolds was a finalist in Chicago’s National “Clean Comedy Challenge,” and he is the winner of the “Funniest Comic East of the Mississippi” contest. Reynolds is the founder of “Stand Up For Adoption,” a comedy benefit series that has raised thousands for families trying to adopt children with special needs. His DryBar comedy special was released in 2020 and has already amassed more than two million views.
