QUINCY — The Brubeck Brothers Quartet will be playing at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Morrison Theater in Quincy Junior High School.

The Brubeck Brothers Quartet are making their centennial tour, a huge multimedia musical extravaganza focusing on Dave Brubeck, the great musician’s life and work.  His famous musician sons play glorious jazz on the stage accompanied by film and stories of Brubeck’s astonishing life.

To celebrate his life and legacy, Dave’s sons Chris and Dan Brubeck — who performed and recorded with their father since the 1970s — create a film/live performance show with their own Brubeck Brothers Quartet, with Dave and Chris as the foundation, with guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Check Lamb completing this dynamic quartet.  Through stories told by his sons and music performed by the quartet, the show invites audiences to travel along the timeline of Dave’s extraordinary life and career.

Grammy winner John Clayton has created special arrangements of Dave Brubeck’s work to celebrate the 100th birthday of the jazz legend.

Chris and Dan Brubeck have been making music together for more of their lives, cutting their first record nearly a half century ago.  They’ve subsequently played with their father and with their own Brubeck Brothers Quartet.  They perform at concert series, colleges and famous jazz festivals across North America and Europe,  including the Newport, Montreal, Playboy/Hollywood Bowl and Monterey jazz festivals.  These versatile musicians play with orchestras both across the U.S. and internationally.

This concert is sponsored by the Arthur and Lela Lindsay Family.

Children 18 and under are admitted free to this concert.  Tickets are $25. They can be purchased at the door, at quincycivicmusic.org or at HyVee and Country Market stores.
