CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College will perform its upcoming spring theatre production, “This Is How We Get Better,” a dark comedic play written by alumna Courtney Deeds, a 2022 graduate, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center in the Mabee Foundation Theatre. A matinee performance will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Tickets, $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors, can be reserved by emailing finearts+theatertickets@culver.edu and can be picked up at will call before the start of the play. C-SC students, faculty and staff can reserve their free tickets on the MyCulver homepage.

‘“This Is How We Get Better” was written during Deeds’ senior year at Culver-Stockton College during her playwriting class.

Set against the backdrop of the afterlife, “This Is How We Get Better” navigates the complexities of friendship, love and loss. The story unfolds as three roommates grapple with the aftermath of their fourth roommate’s funeral. As they confront the regrets of words said and left unsaid, they discover that the ghost of their departed friend is inexplicably confined to their apartment.

“This Is How We Get Better” contains mature language and subject matter while addressing the challenges of coping with grief.

For more information about the performances, contact director David Lane at dlane@culver.edu or 573-288-6398.
