HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, will be the host of a special dinner and performance event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22.

Dinner+Music combines food for the body and music for the soul. Admission includes music by cellist and music educator Katie Schisler accompanied by pianist Michael Gaines. Before the musical performance, guests will enjoy a variety of homemade soups, breads and desserts. The HAC Program Committee will host the event.

Schisler is the music instructor at A.D. Stowell Elementary, instructor of Southside Strings after-school string program and conductor of the Hannibal Area String Orchestra.

The Philharmonic later gave her a scholarship that enabled her to come back as a featured soloist. Schisler received a bachelor of music education vocal/instrumental from the University of Central Missouri, where she studied under Michael Bersin.

Cost for the dinner and performance is $20 for the general public, $15 for HAC members and $5 for students. Space is limited. Tickets are required. Tickets can be purchased online at https://hannibalartscouncil.eventbrite.com, contact HAC at by calling 573-221-6545 or stopping by 105 S. Main from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
