Downtown Macomb to celebrate 30 years of Dickens on the Square on Dec. 6-7
MACOMB, Ill. — The 30th annual Dickens on the Square will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, in historic downtown Macomb.
This year’s event offers horse-drawn trolley rides, living window displays, the Festival of Trees, the Children’s Shopping Mall, visits with Santa, carolers, Victorian-era characters and more. The festivities will kick off on Friday evening with Santa’s arrival aboard the Santa Zephyr Express at 6:17 p.m.
In a press release, Savannah Ballard, marketing and downtown development director, said, “Dickens on the Square has been a cherished holiday tradition in Macomb for the past 30 years. We’re excited to carry on this magical celebration, welcoming both local residents and visitors to downtown Macomb.”
