Eight couples to compete for mirror ball trophy at Dancing with the Local Stars fundraiser on Feb. 4

QUINCY — Eight couples of local “celebrities” will perform before hundreds of spectators while trying to impress judges at the 12th annual Dancing with the Local Stars fundraiser at the Ambiance, 5225 Koch’s Lane, on Feb. 4. 

The event benefits Cornerstone: Foundations for Families, a nonprofit mental health counseling agency. The event starts with a social hour at 6 p.m. Dinner is at 7 p.m., and dancing starts at 8 p.m.

Teams competing for the mirror ball trophy are:

• Leah and Craig Heming. Leah is a nurse practitioner at Blessing Cancer Center. Craig is the co-owner of Doors-N-More.
• Crystal Perry and Randy Wolfmeyer. Perry is a physician with Blessing Physician Services. Wolfmeyer teaches physics and engineering at John Wood Community College.
• Adam and Joan Goehl. Adam is the owner of Quincy Fence Company, and Joan is the co-secretary/treasurer/owner of the business.
• Maria Bichsel and Brittney Ippensen. Bichsel is the group fitness instructor at the Kroc Center. Brittney is a self-employed cosmetologist and fitness instructor at the Kroc Center.
• Mike and Erica Stewart. Mike is the executive director of the Employers Healthcare Coalition. Erica is a senior manager for Clover Health. 
• Allison Hutson and L.B. Cornwell. Hutson is the assistant director of admissions communications at Quincy University. Cornwell is a financial advisor with Stifel. 
• Nicole Haubrich and Brooke Baldwin. Haubrich is a family nurse practitioner at Blessing Orthopedics. Brooke works for Quincy School District as a deaf/hard of hearing teacher. 
• Megan Peters and Sean Major. Peters is the business development coordinator at Klingner & Associates. Major is the surveyor technician for Klingner & Associates.

The dance teams will be coached by Jill Schutte Schuckman, Dawn Whitcomb, Jennifer Gilchrist McCaughey, Jennifer Peters Foust, Amy Zanger and Tiffany Tomlinson Frese.

Cornerstone also will recognized Ann Boland as its humanitarian of the year at the event. 

Boland has worked as a drug and alcohol prevention specialist, bus driver and served on committees for the Quincy School Board and the Quincy Public School Foundation. She is a past board member of the American Heart Association, DARE and Quincy Regional Crimestoppers. She is the former president and secretary of the Quincy Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
