After a long COVID-induced pause in its 90-plus-year history, the Quincy Civic Music Association is presenting a full five-concert season to Quincy and the region.

The season launches with TAKE3, a classical-pop smash-up of glittering musicians, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium on the John Wood Community College campus. Violinist Lindsay Deutsch, cellist Mikala Schmitz, and pianist Jason Stoll have enjoyed national and international acclaim. With a flair for the wild and unexpected, the genre-defying trio, TAKE3 brings a classical music background and infuses it with rock-star charisma.  Known for their infectious and down-to-earth onstage personalities, this threesome performs arrangements of top pop hits, Americana and classical favorites.

Admission is free to anyone in high school or younger. JWCC, CulverStockton and Quincy University students are admitted for free with a student ID.  Season tickets and single admission tickets can be purchased through ArtsQuincy, on the QCMA website, at the door before concerts and at the following outlets: Hy-Vee, 3700 Broadway; Hy-Vee, 1400 Harrison; County Market, 520 N. 24th; County Market, 4830 Broadway; and Kirlin’s in Quincy Mall.
