Generations of jazz collaboration to perform during concert Thursday at JWCC auditorium

QUINCY — A jazz collaboration concert at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, will feature performances by the QU Jazz Band, JWCC Jazz Band, Quincy Junior High School seventh grade and eighth grade Jazz Band and the PMO Jazz Band in the Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium on the campus of John Wood Community College.

The concert will feature jazz music that spans generations while highlighting the talent of students. Each group will present two pieces independently, and the concert will end with QU and JWCC jazz bands performing two pieces together.

The bands are under the direction of Christine Damm, Jessica Snider, Sara Fairbrother, Edward Sailer and Jill Steinkamp.

Tickets are $5 for adults, and students are free. Tickets may be bought at the door.
