Gray Gallery to be site of Baccalaureate-Senior Retrospective; gallery reception set for Sunday

QUINCY — Quincy University’s Gray Gallery in Brenner Library is hosting the annual Baccalaureate-Senior Retrospective through May 17, with a gallery reception from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. This exhibit is free and open to the public.
The QU Senior Art Retrospective features a comprehensive showing of works in a variety of media produced and presented by the graduating art majors, along with a color catalog.
Seniors participating in the senior art retrospective are Mia Burry, Jaynie Chatman, Haley Dotson, Jensen Ross, Arthur Tate and Laura VanNice.
The baccalaureate show is the capstone of the senior experience through which an art major makes the transition from student to professional. The candidates prepare a comprehensive portfolio of work, assessing strengths and areas for improvement. The students participate in a senior seminar that enables each to focus on particular facets of development as an artist. During the final semester, the students collaborate to plan a professional show, design the display area, prepare publicity, develop the catalog and arrange a reception.
