Hannibal Arts Council exhibits opening Friday feature wide variety of media

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The upcoming exhibits at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, feature a wide variety of media. The exhibits will be on display at the Hannibal Arts Council July 19 through Aug. 31. An exhibit opening will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 19, with an artist talk at 6 p.m.

Numerous artists will be showcased in the upcoming exhibits. On display will be:

Alice Runzi (Bellflower, Mo.) will be exhibiting oil paintings, and Kay Sutherland (Quincy, Ill.) is exhibiting paintings. Jessie Cargas (Rosebud, Mo.), Nick Willett (Springfield, Mo.) and Chris Wubbena (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) will be exhibiting sculptures. Local art educators have been invited to display works as part of a group show. Local artists have submitted works for the “Green with Envy” open show that will feature the color green.

The Photography Channel will be digital images that reflect the theme “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” along with featured photographer Justin Hamm (Mexico, Mo.).

HAC gallery hours through Aug. 31 are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays (during exhibits only).
