Hannibal Arts Council names Hinton as program coordinator
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council recently announced Beth Hinton has accepted the position of program coordinator with the organization. She began her duties in early September, training under Brenda Beck Fisher, who held the position since January 2011.
Hinton comes to the program coordinator position with knowledge of the organization and its role in the community. Beginning in 2012, she served several years on the HAC Children’s Committee, took a hiatus and rejoined the HAC Youth Program Committee in 2022, assuming the role of chair in 2023. At the same time, Hinton was nominated for and joined the Hannibal Arts Council Board of Directors.
In addition to her board and committee service, Hinton has been an active volunteer and contributor to the organization’s programming success through participation in programs such as the Wild & Wacky Art Adventure, Art Adventures and has shared her art in open exhibits and Photography Channels, hanging gallery exhibits and volunteering at the Hannibal Folklife Festival.
As program coordinator, Hinton will work alongside office administrator Becky Evans and executive director Michael Gaines to provide planning and development support for Hannibal Arts Council programs and services provided within the community.
Hinton has been a Hannibal resident since 1992. She graduated from Hannibal High School and attended Hannibal-LaGrange University, where she obtained a masters degree in education. Her career background includes elementary education and middle school art education roles within the Hannibal School District.
The Hannibal Arts Council was founded in 1975 by a passionate group of community leaders who saw a need for an arts council in Hannibal. The organization has grown to include a wide variety of multi-discipline programs that contribute to the community’s quality of life, vitality and visibility.
