HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, will site of a beginner-friendly crochet workshop with Grace Tate of Graceful Stitching Co. at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4.

Tate has been crocheting as a hobby for 10 years. The workshop will focus on pattern reading and practice chain and single crochet stitches to create a small diamond gauge block. Participants will be given the full scarf pattern for practice at home — approximately a 19-inch by 74-inch scarf using size 3 yarn weight requiring about 1,500 yards. It is recommended that participants are familiar with how to create a chain and single crochet, but proficiency is not required.

Needed supplies are yarn (weight 3 or 4) and a size 5mm or 5.5mm crochet hook. If a participant has previously attended one of Tate’s workshops, the yarn and hook are compatible. Recommended but optional supplies include stitch markers.

If participants do not have the needed supplies, supplies can be provided, including necessary hooks, yarn and any additional crocheting supplies needed to complete the project.

Class size is limited to 10 participants. Cost for the workshop is $10 (bring your own supplies) or $15 (supplies provided). Registration is required. To register for the workshop, go to https://hannibalartscouncil.eventbrite.com, call 573-221-6545 or stop by the HAC, 105 S. Main.
