Hannibal-LaGrange University Theatre Department to perform ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ April 10-12

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal-LaGrange University Theatre Department will present the production of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at 7 p.m. April 10-12 at the Roland Rine Arts Theatre.
Based on the classic 1968 film and the novel by Ian Fleming, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” tells the tale of Caractacus Potts, an eccentric inventor, and his children, who embark on a magical journey with their fantastical car that can fly and float. When they encounter a colorful cast of characters, the Potts family must use their courage and creativity to save the day and escape the clutches of the villainous Baron and Baroness Bomburst.
The production, directed by Sabrina Brookshire, features talented performers, dazzling costumes and special effects that bring the magic of the story to life. Audiences can expect to see memorable numbers such as “Truly Scrumptious,” “Hushabye Mountain” and, of course, the iconic title song, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” has timeless themes of family, imagination and believing in the impossible.
