Hawk Express Jazz Band to perform free Spring Showcase Concert on April 3

QUINCY — The Quincy University Hawk Express Jazz Band will perform its Spring Showcase Concert at 3 p.m. April 3 at the Connie Niemann Center for Music, 17th and Seminary Road. The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Christine Damm, dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication, the jazz band will perform an array of jazz tunes, such as “In the Mood,” “Malgueña,” “Think” and “Blooz.” Junior music major Cody Collins will be featured on the trumpet in “Bye, Bye, Blackbird.” Vocalist Colby Schulz will be featured in “This Masquerade.” Senior music major Madison Brueck will be featured in “Easy Does It.”
